Fresh Air Exchange

Proper ventilation is vital for healthy indoor air and can be achieved using Heat Recovery Ventilators or HRV's.  The use of these ventilators provides a constant source of fresh, filtered air to flow through your home.

Due to energy-efficient buildings that have been constructed to keep the outdoor air out, indoor air quality has deteriorated.  Energy-efficient windows, doors, and insulation have been installed to reduce the cost of heat and air conditioning.  This has caused building environments to feel uncomfortable and to result in health-related problems, such as:

    •  Headaches
    •  Congestion
    •  Runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing
    •  Coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing
    •  Fatigue
    •  Increase in allergies and asthma

HRV’s move stale, contaminated warm air from inside a house to the outdoors while drawing fresh air from the outside.  When the outside air is warm, as in the summer time, heat from the outside is removed and transferred to the outgoing air.
